Medole

Medole is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 4076 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Mantua in Lombardy. The community is located about 29 kilometers northwest of Mantua.

History

The Torre Civica The parish church was furnished with paintings by Titian. The convent of Annunciata built in the mid 15th century and has been closed since the 19th century. 1859, the Battle of Medole took place. A confrontation between French and Habsburg troops during the second war of independence of Italy with the victory of France.

Traffic

By Medole the former Strada Statale ( the provincial road 17 today ) leads 236 Goitese from Mantua to Brescia.
