Pegognaga

Pegognaga is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 7219 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Mantua in Lombardy. The municipality is situated approximately 19 km south-southeast of Mantua. The Po flows about 6 kilometers north of the village.

History

The name of the place and the community is expected to fall to a Roman patrician named Pecunius, who built here in the first century after Christ a farm. In the 4th century the town by the name Flexum is demonstrated.

Traffic

The municipality is situated on the Autostrada A22, which leads coming from Modena to Mantova and Verona, and on to the burner. A train station is on the railway line Suzzara - Ferrara.
