San Giorgio di Mantova

San Giorgio di Mantova is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 9552 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Mantua in Lombardy. The community is located about 3 kilometers east of Mantua east of the Mincio and the Parco del Mincio.

History

The name of the village goes back to a place that was destroyed during the Napoleonic Wars. In its place fortifications were erected for the protection of Mantua.

Traffic

Passing through the municipality next to the Autostrada A22 ( Modena-Brenner ) and the Strada Statale 10 Padana Inferiore and west of the village Mottella the previous Strade Statali Goitese 236bis and 482 Alto Polesana.
