Mercedes -Benz 380 K Cabriolet B ( 1934)

The Mercedes- Benz Type 380 replaced in 1933, the types Mannheim 350 and 380 S. The new car was given the internal designation W model 22

The vehicle has a box-section pressed steel frame with low 3140 mm wheelbase, making it slightly smaller overall than the Mannheim types. It has coil springs axles; the rear is designed as a swing axle. All four wheels are hydraulically braked with Saugluftunterstützung. In addition to the chassis, there is a two-door touring car, the Cabriolet A, B and C, a sports roadster and a four-door sedan.

The engine was taken to the Type 380 S in principle from its predecessor, an eight-cylinder in-line engine, equipped however in these vehicles in the overhead valve ( OHV ). There were four different levels:

The engine capacity is 3823 cc, power 90 hp (66 kW) without a compressor. Optionally, a mounted compressor was available, which increases the power to 120 hp ( 88 kW). The top speed is 120 km / h without compressor and 130 km / h compressor.

The same engine was also available with integrated compressor and then developed 140 hp (103 kW), resulting in a top speed 135-145 km / h ( depending on rear axle ratio ).

The reamed engine has a displacement of 4019 cm ³ and makes 144 hp ( 106 kW). The performance figures of the aforementioned embodiments.

1934 these cars were replaced by the more advanced 500 K.

Overall, originated from these vehicles, all engine variants of time, until 1934 exactly 154 pieces.
