Mercedes -Benz Viano CDI 3.0 V6 Ambiente (2003-2010)

The Mercedes -Benz 639 series (W 639 for the standard version, 639 V for the long version ) depending on the variant, a van or pickup truck. Predecessor was the W 638 In contrast to this it has a rear-wheel drive. The series is as transporter variant ( Vito ) and van version ( Viano ) format and is available with two different wheelbases, three lengths and two roof heights. 2005 Vito was elected Van of the Year.

On 31 January 2014, the successor to the 639 series was presented. This is again marketed as V- class and internally designated as the class 447.

Models and engine

Vito and Viano existed until 2006 with two V6 petrol engines 3.2 liter with 140 kW (190 hp ) and 3.7 liter with 170 kW (231 hp). They have been replaced by the new 3.5-liter V6 with 190 kW (258 hp). Furthermore, three different 2.2 liter four-cylinder diesel engines ( 65 kW/88 hp, 80 kW/109 hp, 110 kW/150 hp) and a 3.0 -liter V6 diesel engine (CDI ) in the offer. The latter is a 140 kW ( 204 hp) and 165 kW ( 224 hp) and common- rail diesel engine with a maximum torque of 440 Nm. There are all-wheel drive available for the two small diesel in conjunction with the automatic transmission.

The Viano as a car is available in four trim levels trend, fun, ambience and avant available ( 639 811: Wheelbase 3,200 mm / overhang 765 mm, model 639 813: Wheelbase 3,200 mm / overhang 1,010 mm, type 639 815: Wheelbase 3,430 mm / overhang 1,010 mm ( as with pop-up ) ). Since September 2007, the Viano is also offered in the upscale trim level X -Clusive with modified ( spoiler ), front and rear bumpers, side skirts, 18 -inch wheels and a chrome exhaust finisher. With the line X -Clusive also seat covers are available in Alcantara in either pebble or anthracite. The X -Clusive was replaced in 2011 by the Viano Avantgarde Edition 125. The Series 639 is manufactured at Vitoria-Gasteiz in Spain. Some units of the Viano van assembly plant in Alcobendas, also assembled in Spain. These are supplied as CKD kits from Vitoria- Gasteiz.

From the Brabus Supercar Brabus 6.1 is offered on the basis of the Viano since 2004.

Since April 2010, the 639 Series models also roll in Fuzhou in the Fujian Daimler Automotive as Viano and Vito as well as an ambulance called SPO, from the band.

On 23 October 2010 a facelift of the two versions has been introduced, which were previously presented at the IAA 2010. Apart from the engines and the external appearance of the lighting system and the grille were changed. The headlights were given a recessed down light bar, which was similarly introduced in the model refinement of the M-Class 2008.
