M-Class (2005-2008)

The Mercedes -Benz W 164 was sold as a Mercedes -Benz M-Class and was the successor of the Mercedes -Benz W 163

Just as for almost all other models there was a sport package for the M-Class. This included: AMG front apron, side steps, AMG rear apron and 21-inch AMG light-alloy wheels in 5 -spoke design round in the dimension 265/40 R21 and oval AMG tailpipes.

Between late 2007 and mid-2008 there was a special model called Edition 10 This name indicated the tenth anniversary of the M -Class. The anniversary SUV offered, among others, 20 - inch wheels, bi-xenon headlights and a titanium-look. The interior has been upgraded with a two-tone full leather interior, sports instruments and stainless steel pedals.

From May 2010 until the end of production in June 2011, the Grand Edition special model was offered. This model was recognizable by the dark-tinted headlamps, LED daytime running lights and AMG radiator grille. Furthermore, in this special model a underbody protection of aluminum was installed front and rear. In addition, it contained darkened tail lights, heat insulating blue glass and 19 -inch light -alloy wheels in Y-spoke design.

The facelift was launched in late April 2008, and has been available since autumn 2008. A revised bumpers and headlights with a step in the lower edge given the revised front view of the SUVs. The grille was now voluminous and set lower and was divided by three wide, black louvres with rectangular air outlets and chrome edge. Models and engine

In Germany, the ML was available with V6 and V8 petrol and diesel engines.

In the U.S., in addition to the ML 350, ML 550, ML 63 AMG and the ML 350 BlueTEC a ML 450 HYBRID offered, in which the engine of the ML 350 has been combined with two electric motors. This version was with a system output of 250 kW reduced by about 20% consumption compared to the ML 350; it could also be driven purely electrically over a distance of 2.5 km.
