Miklos Molnar

Miklos Jon Molnar ( born June 10, 1970 in Copenhagen ) is a retired Danish footballer. Molnar played from 1987 to 2000 for a total of 11 teams in Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland, France, Germany and the USA, and was the Danish national team.

Association

He began his career at Danish club Hvidovre IF. After a season and 31 matches, the striker moved to BK Frem, a club in Copenhagen. There he played until 1990, before moving to Standard Liege in Belgium. In his first season for the Belgians, he scored 11 goals in 26 games, which earned him a nomination for the Danish national team.

In 1991 he moved to Switzerland Servette Geneva. He remained there, however, only one season and then played for French club AS Saint- Étienne. There, however, he could not cope with the tactical system and changed it again in 1994 to Denmark Lyngby BK. To want to change With the constant motivation to go abroad again, and the disagreement with the then manager Michael Schäfer he only played half a year in Lyngby, before joining in the winter of 1995 to FSV Frankfurt in the 2nd Bundesliga. There, he scored 12 goals in 20 games, but could not prevent a descent of the club in the Regionalliga, so he moved to Denmark after the end of the season. From 1995 to 1997 he first played one season at Herfølge BK and then again at Lyngby BK.

In 1997 he emigrated to FC Sevilla in order to play in the Spanish Segunda Division, the second tier of the country. After three years and 16 goals in 44 games, he moved to the United States. For one year he played with the Kansas City Wizards in Major League Soccer. With Kansas City Molnar won the MLS Cup 2000, but he scored the decisive goal in a 1-0 final victory.

National

He made his international debut in 1990. Overall, he played 18 times for the Danes, scoring two goals. In addition, he participated in the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000.
