Mirko Müller

Mirko Müller ( born November 12, 1974 in Lobau ) is a German figure skater, who started pair skating.

Biography

Mirko Müller began four years ago with the ice skating. First launched for the SC Berlin. He was until 1992 individual runners and went to the sports school. He then transferred to pair skating.

From 1994 to 1995 he was with the Russian Ekaterina Silnitzkaja that was previously started with Marno Kreft.

From 1995 to 2002 Mirko Müller was a member of the sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr.

From 1995 to 1996 he was in the Frenchwoman Emilie grass a figure skating partner. From 1996 to 2000, ran Mirko Müller gave Peggy Black, who had separated from Alexander King for a baby break before. With Peggy Black Mirko Müller had his greatest international success by winning the bronze medal at the World Championships in 1998. Trainer, the couple was Knut Schubert. The choreographer was the USA's Diana Goolsbey.

Due to injury, and because of the jump weakness associated Peggy Black finished in 2000, their figure skating career. So Mirko Müller sought in 2000 a new partner and found it in Sarah Jentgens. Coached by Knut Schubert in Berlin, renounced the couple in the 2000 /01 season to participate in major competitions. In the Olympic season 2002 Jentgens / Müller won the national title. First and at the same time last international competition was the European Championships in Lausanne, in which the pair gave up because of illness miller after the short program, and thus failed to qualify for the Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City. Then Müller ended his figure skating career.

He is married to his former choreographer Diana Goolsbey. With their son Maximilian, who was born in 1999, they live in Raleigh ( North Carolina). There Mirko Müller- Goolsbey works as a trainer at Central Carolina Skating Club and the High Performance Skating Academy.
