History
Since 1410, the Heilig-Geist -Spital Augsburg held the lordship, and was to the 19th century in the municipal area of the sole landowner. Since the Imperial Diet of 1803 the place belonged to Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.
Incorporations
On 1 May 1978, until then independent municipality Reichertshofen was incorporated.

After the last municipal election on March 2, 2008, the council has twelve members, all belonging to the faction CSU / CDU Association. The turnout was 64.4 %. Another member and chairman of the municipal council is the mayor.

Franz Xaver Meitinger ( CSU / FWV ) is since 1978 the mayor of Mittelneufnach.

Mittelneufnach was the film location for the 1985 film turned Xavier and his extraterrestrial friend.
Traffic
The breakpoint Mittelneufnach is located on the Staudenbahn of Gessertshausen after market forest. The route is currently operating only from individual special trains.
