Murdock MacKinnon

Murdock MacKinnon ( born March 15, 1865 in Brooklyn, Prince Edward Iceland, † October 12, 1944 in Charlottetown ) was a Canadian politician. From 1919 to 1924 he served as Vice- Governor of the Province of Prince Edward Iceland.

MacKinnon received his secondary education at Prince of Wales College in Charlottetown. He then worked as a farmer and joined the Prince Edward Iceland Conservative Party. His political career began in 1897 with the election of the deputies in the Legislative Assembly. Five times in a row, he succeeded in re-election, most recently in 1915. Province to the Cabinet of Prime Minister John Alexander Mathieson he belonged from 1911 to 1917 as Agriculture Minister and Treasurer on. Governor General Lord Devonshire sworn MacKinnon on September 8, 1919 as the Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Iceland. This representative office he held until September 8, 1924.
