Frederick Walter Hyndman

Frederick Walter Hyndman ( born February 13, 1904 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Iceland, † 12 October 1995) was a Canadian manager. From 1958 to 1963 he was vice- governor of the province of Prince Edward Iceland.

Hyndman studied at Prince of Wales College in Charlottetown. Later he headed the insurance company Hyndman & Company Ltd.. At the outbreak of the Second World War, he was a major and deputy commander of Prince Edward Iceland Light Horse Brigade, 1942-1945 Staff officer in the Canadian army headquarters. As a member of the Prince Edward Iceland Progressive Conservative Party in 1955 he was a candidate in elections to the Legislative Assembly but was not elected. Governor General Vincent Massey sworn Hyndman on 31 March 1958 as Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Iceland. This representative office he held until August 1, 1963.
