Augustine Colin Macdonald

Augustine Colin Macdonald (* June 30, 1837 in Iceland Panmure, Prince Edward Iceland, † July 16, 1919 in Charlottetown ) was a Canadian politician. For 18 years he was a member of the Canadian House of Commons. From 1915 until his death he served as Vice- Governor of the Province of Prince Edward Iceland.

Macdonald, son of Scottish immigrant, was working as merchants. In 1870 he was elected a deputy of the Legislative Assembly. Three years later he gave up his seat to run for the Liberal -Conservative at a Lower House election. However, a year after the successful election was followed by a defeat in the general election in 1874. As a result, victories and defeats alternated; represented in the House he was from 1878 to 1882, then again from 1883 to 1887 and finally as a Conservative from 1891 to 1900. Governor General Lord Connaught sworn Macdonald on June 2, 1915 as Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Iceland. He held until his death, this representative office.

His older brother Andrew Archibald Macdonald was Canadian Senator and also vice-governor.
