At the Junior World Championships the espoir 1995 in Tehran, he came behind Tamas Berzicza from Hungary and Konstantin Schneider of Germany, two wrestlers who soon its competitors were also in the seniors to 3rd place.

His debut at an international championship in the seniors in 1995 failed completely, because he retired at the World Championships in Prague after the first round with a defeat, and only came on the 21th Place. All the more surprising, therefore, his victory came in his second appearance at an international championship. He was European champion in the welterweight division in 1996 in Prague. He defeated inter alia Tamas Berzicza, Erik Hahn from Germany, Mnazakan Iskandarjan of Russia, Vladimir Kopytow from Belarus. In the Olympic year 2000, Nazmi Avluca fully focused on the Olympics in Sydney and decided not to participate in the European Championship. A project that failed, because a defeat in his second battle against South Korean Kim Jin -Soo, who beat him 3-1 points already signified his resignation. It remained for him only the 13th Place.

Over the next four years, winning a bronze medal at the European Championships in 2001 in Istanbul welterweight remain his only medal win at one of the classic international championships. Although he was student world middleweight champion and 2003 World Military champion at middleweight, but do not count these successes such as those in the official World and European Championships FILA 2002.

2004 Nazmi Avluca was at the European Championships in Haparanda European champion again, but this time in the middleweight division, where he had changed. Sandor Istvan Bardosi from Hungary and Dimitrios Avramis from Greece were there his worst enemy. Despite this victory Nazmi Avluca was not used at the Olympic Games in Athens. His bad luck was that in Turkey at that time also Hamza Yerlikaya ranking in the middleweight division, which was preferred to him.

2005 and 2006 Nazmi Avluca was very successful at the World and European Championships. He was at the 2005 World Championships in Budapest third parties at the European Championships in Moscow in 2006 and also third in the 2006 World Cup in Guangzhou / China even second. At these championships, he was defeated by Artur Michalkiewicz from Poland, Mishin Alexei and 2006, surprisingly, from the Egyptians Mohamad Abd El Fatah.

The year 2007 was seen sporting a bad year for Nazmi Avluca. He finished at the European Championships in Sofia only the 9th Place and came at the World Championships in Baku only 7th in the middleweight division. Again it was Artur Michalkiewicz and Alexei Mishin, in addition to the World Cup even the Georgians Chasaija Badri, who defeated him.

After this year, Nazmi Avluca had probably already written off by many wrestlers experts. But at the 2008 European Championships in Tampere, Finland, he proved that he had big plans in the Olympic year of 2008. In Tampere he showed outstanding performance and was with five wins European Champion. He defeated thereby also the Swedish former world middleweight champion Ara Abrahamian and Badri Chasaija.

At the Olympic Games in Beijing, he won the bronze medal.

In 2009, Nazmi Avluca was extremely successful again. At the European Championships, he had to fight for victory to his opponent Alexei Mishin duration beaten on points that finished 2nd place, but at the World Championships this year in Herning he scored five victories and thus winning the World Championship title. In the final he beat it Melonin Noumonvi from France.

At the World Championships 2010 in Moscow Nazmi Avluca defeated after three won fights against Pablo Shorey Hernandez from Cuba. As this reached the final, he could continue to fight in the consolation round, but lost surprisingly in the fight for a world championship bronze medal against Nenad Zugaj from Croatia and therefore had to settle for 5th place.

After 2010, his forces continued Nazmi Avluca very dosed one. He started in 2011 only at the World Championships in Istanbul, and fought there with victories over Habibollah Jomeh Akhlaghi, Iran, Wasil Rachyba, Ukraine and Artur Omarov, the Czech Republic, a defeat against Damian Janikowski, Poland and a win over Alan Chugajew, Russia, a World Cup bronze medal. This placement also included already the right to start for the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
