Oberheldrungen

Oberheldrungen is a municipality in the Thuringian Kyffhauserkreis. It belongs to the administrative community at the decorations based in Heldrungen. The municipality Oberheldrungen part of the district Harras.

Geography

Oberheldrungen lies between the decorations and the High -cricket. Through the town flows the hero Erbach.

1.5 km southeast of Harras away, on the main mountain of the decorations in the north on the upstream ridge of the mountain Boniface. On this hill, there is a rampart, were recovered in the Bronze finds. The Fund wealth of tombs and grave mounds on the ridge of the decorations can be compared with that of the little Seamount in the Thuringian basin.

History

Oberheldrungen was first mentioned in 874.

Historic significance of the industry took place here on potash mining. The disused potash mine union Heldrungen II, also known under the name slot " Anna ", is located just south of Oberheldrungen (see below map).

In 1902, began with the sinking of the shaft " Anna ". Its completion took two years.

Remnants of mining times

Recovery of carnallite was from 1905. Mining The mining method was the chamber construction process. The thickness of the Kaliflözes Staßfurt fluctuated due to the Lagerstättentektonik, reaching in places over 30 m. The processing of subsidized salts happened in factory factories, ruins of which are still preserved (see photo opposite). In 1924 the mine Heldrungen II was finally decommissioned in accordance with § 83a of the decommissioning regulation.
