Peter Robertson (triathlete)

Peter Robertson ( born February 17, 1976 in Melbourne) is an Australian triathlete and multiple triathlon world champion (2001, 2003, 2005 ).

Career

Robertson was the first of four children and he began in 1992 at the age of 16 years with triathlon. He started in 2000 and again at the 2004 Summer Olympics. In 2000 he was in Perth Vice World Champion behind the Frenchman Olivier Marceau. In 2001 he was World Champion Triathlon Olympic distance (1.5 km swim, 40 km cycling and 10 km running). In 2002 he became Vice World Champion and 2003 and 2005, he again managed to win the title.

His nickname is " Robbo ". In December 2010, he announced his retirement from professional sport.

In August 2013, he raced in Wiesbaden at the European Championships on the half Ironman distance, finishing in tenth place.
