Quitilipi Department

The department Quitilipi located in the center of Chaco Province in northwestern Argentina and is one of 25 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north and north- west by the department of Maipú, in the north and northeast by the Department of Libertador General San Martín, on the east by the department of Veinticinco de Mayo, in the south of the department of San Lorenzo and the west by the Departamento Comandante Fernández.

The capital of the department Quitilipi is the same Quitilipi. It is located 140 kilometers from the provincial capital Resistencia and 1160 km from Buenos Aires.

Population

According to estimates by the INDEC, the population of the department increased from 32,083 inhabitants (2001) to 33 269 inhabitants in 2005.
