Ricardo Teixeira (racing driver)
Ricardo Teixeira ( born August 2, 1982 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese- Angolan racing driver.
Career
Teixeira started his motorsport career in karting in 1999, the position he held until 2001. At the same time he started in 2001 in the Iberian Formula BMW. From 2002 to 2004 Teixeira participated in any races. 2005 Teixeira returned to motorsport, and went in the national class of the British Formula 3 Championship at the start. Starting for Carlin Motorsport finished Teixeira at the end of the season in ninth place in the standings. In the following season, Teixeira remained in the national class of the British Formula 3 Championship, finishing in seventh place in the final standings. 2007 moved Teixeira in the international class of the British Formula 3 Championship, but he won in any race points. He also competed in two races in the German Formula 3 and remained without any points in this series. 2008 Teixeira remained in the British Formula 3 Championship and finished 20th in the overall standings.
In early 2009 denied Teixeira for Trident Racing testing in the GP2 Series and finished on all three days of testing, the last place. Nevertheless, he was obliged by Trident Racing for the last two race weekends of the GP2 Asia Series season 2008/2009 and the GP2 Series 2009 season. In the main series Teixeira, whose best result was 14th place got no points. 2010 joined the racers in the Formula 2. He finished the season in 16th place overall.
2011 Teixeira was Formula 1 test driver for Team Lotus. 2012 Teixeira returned back to the GP2 series. He received a cockpit at Rapax. At an event he did not attend for health reasons. While his team-mate Tom Dillmann won a race, was a 13th place, the best result of Teixeira. At the end of the season he was without points on the 29th place. 2013 Teixeira was initially without cockpit. In July he returned at Trident Racing for two events in the GP2 series back. He stopped again with no points was 34th in the overall standings.
Nationality
Teixeira occurs predominantly with Angolan racing license. In the GP2 Asia and GP2 Series, however, he started with Portuguese racing license.
