Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth

The Archdiocese of Halifax- Yarmouth (Latin: Archidioecesis Halifaxiensis - Yarmuthensis ) is a Roman Catholic Archdiocese in Nova Scotia, Canada.

The Archdiocese of Halifax- Yarmouth was founded on July 4, 1817 Vicariate Apostolic of Nova Scotia from the Archdiocese of Quebec. On February 15, 1842, the renaming of the diocese of Halifax and collection occurred at a bishopric. On 4 May 1852, the appointment was made at a archbishopric.

1829 the diocese Charlottetown has been assigned. In 1844 the diocese of Arichat, from 1886 Diocese of Antigonish, and in 1853 the diocese Yarmouth out established as suffragan. Until the establishment of the Prefecture Apostolic of Bermuda Islands, the modern diocese of Hamilton in Bermuda in 1953 included the Bermuda Islands to the archbishopric of Halifax. On 7 December 2011, the merger took place with the Diocese of Yarmouth.

The area of the Archdiocese comprises Queens County, Lunenburg County, Halifax County, Hants County, Cumberland County and Colchester County.
