Rüti bei Büren
Ruti at Buren is a municipality in the administrative district in the canton of Bern Seeland in Switzerland.
Geography
Ruti is on the main road Solothurn- Lyss between Arch and Bueren an der Aare. The neighboring communities are from the north clockwise beginning: Grenchen, Arch, Buchegg, Oberwil in Bueren and Bueren an der Aare.
History
Finds of sherds in the Tüfelburg, the statement can be a settlement in the Neolithic period. Population
94.54 % of the population are native speakers of German. Ruti is majority Protestant reformed. It has its own parish with its own church in the village.
Policy
In Ruti the Municipal Assembly is the legislative body. At present ( 2007) is the executive power from the five-member council, which is elected in the majority system.
The voter shares of the parties at the national elections of 2011 were: BDP 47.8 %, SVP 23.7 %, SP 10.1 %, GPS 5.8 %, glp 4.1 %, FDP 2.3 %, SD 1.2 %, EDU 0.9 %, EPP 0.5 %, CVP 0.4 %.

In Ruti various small businesses are located. The catchment area for larger companies is Grenchen, Bienne, Lyss, Solothurn.
Others
Former Federal Council and the Federal President ( 2005) Samuel Schmid of the BDP (formerly SVP ) comes from Ruti and is headquartered there. In 2009 he was made an honorary citizen of the community.
