Sacred Mount Calvary of Domodossola

The Sacro Monte di Domodossola is a mountain with a pilgrimage church in Domodossola in the Italian region Piedmont. The mountain is one of the Sacri Monti since 2003 as a World Heritage Site.

The Holy Mountain was in 1656, designed by Gioacchino from Cassano and Andrea from Rho, who belonged to the Capuchin Order. On the Holy Mountain Stations of the Cross and the Passion of Christ are shown on Calvary and is therefore called Monte Calvario. The pilgrimage church was consecrated in 1690. The crossroads of the Sacro Monte connects the periphery of Domodossola with the summit of Mount Mattarella.
