Scandinavian Masters
The Scandinavian Masters ( since 2011 Nordea Masters) are an annual forming golf tournament on the European Tour, which will be held in late July / early August in Sweden. The discharge date is first laid in the year 2012 in June. The tournament takes place on June 6 ( the Swedish National Day) until June 9, 2012 in the week before the U.S. Open. Exceptionally this is the start date on a Wednesday.
The tournament has its roots in the Volvo Open the late 1960s that the Scandinavian Enterprise Open (SEO) and becoming the first European golf tournament in Sweden were in 1973. 1991, the SEO merged with the PLM Open, from which arose the so-called Scandinavian Masters. The Scandinavian Masters is the only event on the European Tour, which takes place in Scandinavia. The prize money amounted to 1.5 million euros in 2013, which is one of the tournament at the prize money to the lower scale on the European continent.
