Schönau an der Brend ( officially: Schönau adBrend ) is a municipality in the Lower Franconian district of Rhön - grave field and a member of the administrative community Bad Neustadt an der Saale.

Schönau adBrend lies in the region Main- Rhön.

History
The office of the Prince-Bishopric of Würzburg from 1500 belonged to the Frankish Empire circle. It was after the secularization of 1803 in Bavaria's favor - leave the Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany to form the Grand Duchy of Würzburg in 1805 and coincided with this 1814 final at Bayern. In the course of administrative reform was created with the community of 1818, the current community.

Economy, agriculture and forestry
The municipal tax revenue amounted to the equivalent of € 600 thousand in 1999, which amounted to the trade tax revenues ( net) converted 141 T €. It was in 1998 according to official statistics in the manufacturing sector and 62 in the area of trade and transport 45 persons work at the workplace. Social insurance contributions at residence, there were a total of 475 in the manufacturing sector, there was no, in construction 2 companies. In addition, in 1999, there were 23 farms with an agricultural area of 383 ha, of which 267 ha of arable land and 116 ha of permanent grassland.
Traffic
