The outer ring is also often surrounded both internally and externally of a rope.

In the inner circle there is the center of the floating seedling a coconut tree, the main crop of the islands in front of a dukelblau - light blue wavy background split. The dark blue symbolizes the sea, the light blue Pacific sky.

On the light blue half, there are four white stars, they represent the four island groups of the federation: Chuuk, Pohnpei, Kosrae and Yap and find themselves in the flag of Micronesia.
