Seconds Out (English for: " ring free" ) is a double live album by British rock band Genesis. It appeared in 1977 and was received with one exception at concerts 11 to 14 Juni 1977 during the tour to Wind & Wuthering in Paris. Another recording dates back to 1976, the tour for the previous album A Trick of the Tail. It is the second live album by Genesis and also the last recording with guitarist Steve Hackett. Seconds Out marks the end of progressive rock phase of Genesis. In the following years focused on commercially successful rock music.

Meaning of the title

The name of the album Seconds Out has a double meaning. For one, it is the second live album by Genesis (the second out of the studio). On the other hand, the term " Seconds Out " is used at the pit, after its call at start of combat the seconds to leave the ring. The album name can be so "free! Ring" translate.

Founded in 1991, A Genesis tribute band from Aschaffenburg was called after the album Seconds Out.
