South Central Alaska

Southcentral Alaska is a region in the U.S. state of Alaska to the Gulf of Alaska between the Aleutian Islands and the Panhandle. To the north is bordered by the South Central Alaska. Much of the population of Alaska lives in this region, mainly in and around Anchorage.

The region includes the Alaska Peninsula, Kodiak Island, the Kenai Peninsula, Cook Inlet and Prince William Sound, as well as the National Park Kenai Fjords and Wrangell -St. Elias. Fisheries and oil processing are the dominant economic activities. In addition to Anchorage are, among others, the cities of Kenai, Valdez, Homer and Seward in Southcentral Alaska.
