Steve Cummings

Phillip Stephen "Steve" Cummings ( born March 19, 1981 in Wirral ) is a British racing cyclist.

Steve Cummings is active mainly on the track. At the Olympics in Athens he won along with Bradley Wiggins, Rob Hayles and Paul Manning the silver medal in the team pursuit. A year later, they managed to win the world title. In the Commonwealth Games 2006, he was again first with the team. In the individual pursuit, he secured the bronze medal. Later, at the World Championships in Bordeaux, the team finished second behind Australia.

Cummings is also active on the road. In 2005 and 2006 he rode for the Belgian Professional Continental team Landbouwkrediet - Colnago. At the 2006 Commonwealth Games, he was just barely beaten fourth. In 2007, he drove American ProTeam Discovery Channel. He moved in 2008 to Team Barloworld and 2010 for Sky Professional Cycling Team. Since 2012 he is with the BMC Racing Team under contract and won the victory on the 13th stage of the Vuelta a España in 2012.
