Straškov-Vodochody

Straškov - Vodochody is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers south of Roudnice and belongs to Okres Litoměřice.

Geography

The village is on the board at the Bohemian Bach Čepel. Four kilometers north-east rises the mountain Rip, in the west there are several sand pits. On the eastern outskirts of Straškov - Vodochody the route of the D8/Europastraße 55 highway takes you past the next exit 29 " Roudnice " is located in the north. Through the town, the state highway runs between 608 and Terezín Veltrusy. In Straškov - Vodochody the Railroads Libochovice cross - Kralupy nad Vltavou and Roudnice - Louny.

Neighboring towns are Kleneč in the north, Vražkov in the northeast, Mnetěš in the east, in the southeast Ledčice, Loucká in the south, and Hospozínek Radešínek the southwest, Bříza in the west and Račiněves in the northwest.

History

Vodochody was mentioned in the year 999 at the foundation of the monastery Ostrov by Boleslav II the first time.

First news about Straškov are from the 1271. The place was probably built in the 13th century, the parish church of about 100 years later. 1429 overrode the Episcopal Administrator Conrad of Zwole Straškov to Jan Firšic of Nabdín. Among the Firšic Nabdín of the town was later annexed to the dominion Beškovice. 1865, the school was established in Straškov and the village was parish and school location for the surrounding villages.

On 1 January 1950, the adjoining villages were merged to form the community Straškov - Vodochody, initially with a name change to the fancy name Švermov was intended.

The community Straškov - Vodochody consists of the districts Straškov ( Straschkow ) and Vodochody ( Wodochau ), at the same time also form Katastralbezirke.
