Streithausen is a municipality in the Westerwald district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Hachenburg. Streithausen is a nationally recognized tourist.

Geographical location

Streithausen is seen a large scale, between Koblenz and Siegen, in the south-north axis and between Cologne and Frankfurt, in the west-east axis, in the northern part of the Westerwald, which also forms the northern part of Rhineland- Palatinate. The community is expected to the Kroppacher Switzerland region, which characterizes the Small and Big Nister, with its narrow valleys and some steep mountain slopes. History

The first written mention is dated November 2, 1279, as Cunegonde of Streithausen ( Strithusin ) and their children, who came from the family of the Lords of Nister, goods sold in the nearby Hailzhausen to the abbey Marienstatt.
