Gehlert

Gehlert is a municipality in the Westerwald district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Hachenburg.

Geographical location

The community lies in the Westerwald between Limburg and Siegen, about 2 km south of Hachenburg, surrounded on all sides by Hachenburger city forest. In the north of the village lies the old town, in the east the Lochumer Heath and the places Alpenrod and Nistertal, in the south stones stream on the Wied and west Merkel Bach and Höchstenbach. North West of the town is the Kapellchesberg (404 m), in the south of Gietzebeul ( 494 m), rises on the northern side of the Roth Bach, and in the southwest of the graves mountain ( 513 m).
