Mudenbach
Mudenbach is a municipality in the Westerwald district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Hachenburg.
Geographical location
Mudenbach is located on 286 m altitude in the northern part of the Westerwald on the Wied. The community is structured predominantly agricultural. To Mudenbach include the districts Farrenau and Hanwerth. The district is bordered to the west by Borod and Ingelbach (District of Old Churches ( Westerwald) ), on the north by Kroppach and Marzhausen, to the east and to the south the district Hattert Hanwerth to Wahlrod.
History
The place was first mentioned in documents in 1270.
Mudenbach belonged to the parish Kroppach and by the end of the 18th century the country wonderfully to the county of Sayn- Hachenburg. 1799 was the county on the Erbweg to the princes of Nassau- Weilburg. In connection with the formation of the Confederation of the Rhine was the region and thus Mudenbach 1806. At the newly established Duchy of Nassau Under the management of Nassau Mudenbach was assigned to the Office Hachenburg. After the annexation of the Duchy of Nassau, the place came in 1866 to the Kingdom of Prussia and was from 1868 to the province of Hesse -Nassau and Oberwesterwald circle. Since 1946, Merkel Bach is part of Rhineland- Palatinate.

Parish council
The local council in Mudenbach consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 of personalized proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman. The twelve seats in the municipal council are divided into two groups of voters. In the previous election in 2004, a majority vote was held.

Mudenbach is connected via the national road 265 to the highway 8 to the supra-local transport network. The national road connects the town with its centers Hachenburg and old churches.
