Geographical location

Hattert between Hachenburg and old churches, on the so-called Old kirchener plateau (also Altenkirchen plateau ) in front Westerwald. History

Formation

Based on the historical place names Hatterts is believed that the place existed as a settlement in the 11th century. It is assumed that, from a Frankish Einzelhofsiedlung the settlement Hattenrode arose. This part of Hattert later added the corridor designation on the Frankenhof and today he is called by the inhabitants so. From 1180 is the Hatterter reason under the rule of the Counts of Sayn. The first documentary mention of the place is dated 13 December 1373 ( the original document is located under file no. 74/484 in the Hessian State Archives in Wiesbaden). Like with most of the surrounding villages, the name or its historical predecessors, close to a clearing settlement, were cut down for the woods.

In Hatterter reason the places Niederhattert, Mittelhattert, Oberhattert, Laad and cottage emerged. The Hatterter reason was one of the parishes Kroppach and Old Town (the latter now part of Hachenburg ), represented the limits of the Roth Bach. Railway
