Suzanne Bonamici

Suzanne Bonamici ( born October 14, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan) is an American politician. Since January 2012, it represents the state of Oregon in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Suzanne Bonamici visited until 1978, the Lane Community College in Eugene. She then studied until 1980 at the local University of Oregon journalism. After a subsequent law degree from the same university in 1983 and its recent approval as a lawyer began in Washington DC to work for the Federal Trade Commission. There she worked as a lawyer in the field of consumer protection. Later, she practiced in Portland as a private lawyer. Politically, she joined the Democratic Party. In the years 2007 and 2008 she was a Member of the House of Representatives from Oregon; 2008-2011 she was a member of the State Senate. She was chairman of the Committees on Consumer Protection and Public Affairs. In addition, she served on the Department of Justice and the Education Committee.

Following the resignation of Mr David Wu Bonamici was chosen due to the election for the first seat of Oregon as his successor in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, where she started her new mandate on 31 January 2012. In Congress, she is a member of the Budget Committee and the Committee on Science, Space and Technology. In the congressional elections in 2012, she sat down with 60:33 percent of the vote against Republican by Delinda Morgan.

Suzanne Bonamici is married to Federal Judge Michael H. Simon, with whom she has two grown children.
