Wendell Wyatt

Wendell Wyatt ( born June 15, 1917 in Eugene, Oregon, † January 28, 2009 in Portland, Oregon ) was an American politician.

Wyatt studied at the University of Oregon in Eugene and earned his Bachelor of Laws in 1941 ( LL.B. ). During the Second World War, he served from 1942 to 1946 as a pilot in the United States Marine Corps. After the war, Wyatt moved to Astoria and worked as a lawyer at the law firm of former governor Albin Walter Norblad. From 1955 to 1957 Wyatt was chairman of the Oregon State Republican Central Committee.

In 1964, he was elected in a special election to the Congress, in order to re- occupy the vacant seat of the late Walter Norblad, son of Albin Walter Norblad in the House of Representatives. Wyatt took there his State of 3 November 1964 to 3 January 1975. During the elections in 1974, he opted not to run again. In the following years he remained active in the Republican Party and became a partner in the law firm of Schwabe Williamson & Wyatt.
