The Suzuki GSX -R 750 is a motorcycle by the Japanese manufacturer Suzuki. The super sports car was introduced in the German market in 1985 and was one of the first motorcycles in the original Superbike class ( 750cc four-cylinder ). The original model is considered technically as pointing the way for the further development of the sport bikes.

Meanwhile, the GSX -R 750 is completely without direct competition, since the other manufacturers after changing the Superbike regulations on 1,000 cc maximum engine capacity have no adequate models longer available.

History

The first model of the GSX -R 750, then with luft-/ölgekühltem engine, already had a dry weight of 176 kg, and made more than 74 kW ( 100 hp). It was offered in a racing variant as close GSX -R 750 R, which, inter alia, via a multi- Scheib a dry clutch and racing decreed formwork. The GSX -R 750 was after the 1983 Suzuki RG 250 Gamma presented the second series motorcycle, which was equipped with an aluminum frame. She was also the first production motorcycle the disposal system over an anti-dive. The first model variant from 1985 was still working with cable flat- slide carburetors, which gave them an awesome acceleration to that of a racing motorcycle was similar. Later variants from 1989 were equipped with constant pressure carburettors, as the brachial onset acceleration, out with the tire profile to frequent accidents in road traffic had.

In 1992, held with the model GR7BB the cooling water intake in the GSX -R series, the following received from the additional symbol " W".

Since a model change in 1996 a Ram Air system was introduced, which takes place in the entire GSX -R series up to now use. The first series with this system is therefore also called the Suzuki name system SRAD (Suzuki Ram Air Direct). This relates to the 750cc models from 1996 to 1999 and the 600 models 1997 to 2000.

In 1998, it came as part of the annual facelift of the SRAD - series also introducing a fuel injection at their 750 models.

Current technology features

Basically, the GSX -R 750 is technically almost complete with its sister model GSX -R 600 identical. Both are developed in parallel since 1996 and 1997 respectively.

Suzuki also places the current GSX -R 750 on the engine concept of the liquid-cooled inline four- cylinder engine with two overhead camshafts and four per titanium valves per cylinder. An electronic multi-point fuel injection is combined with two butterfly valves per cylinder, which should help the engine to improved throttle response and pulling.

The chassis consists of an aluminum bridge frame, a fully adjustable 41 mm upside-down fork and an aluminum swingarm with an indirectly articulated, fully adjustable central strut. A standard steering damper suppresses kickback ( " kickback" ), an anti - hopping clutch ( "Slipper Clutch" ) prevents stamping rear when downshifting under braking quickly.

The GSX -R 750 has a front brake system with two 310 mm discs, radially mounted 4- piston fixed calipers and Brembo radial brake pump a.

Racing

Due to the increase in engine capacity 2004 in World Superbike racing class, the GSX -R 750 does not mean much more in racing. Suzuki taught from 2006 to 2008, the European Suzuki GSX- R Cup as part of the World Superbike Championship with the GSX -R 750, in which young talents were able to measure with technically identical motorcycles.
