Swimming at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's 50 metre freestyle

The competition over 50 meters freestyle men at the 2012 Olympics in London was held on 2 and 3 August 2012 at the London Aquatics Centre. 58 athletes took part.

There were eight heats. The 16 fastest swimmers of all heats qualified for the two semi-finals, which were held on the same day. For the finale, the fastest eight swimmers qualified both semi-finals.
