Telford and Wrekin

Telford and Wrekin is an independent administrative unit ( Unitary Authority) in England. It has about 167,000 inhabitants and is part of the West Midlands region, bordering Staffordshire and Shropshire. The head office is located in Telford.

The Borough of Telford and Wrekin from 1974 to 1998, formed under the name The Wrekin district of the county of Shropshire. Since 1998 it is administratively independent of Shropshire and only belongs to ceremonial occasions to this county.
