The Path of Totality (English for: " The path to wholeness " ) is the tenth studio album by the American nu-metal band Korn. It was published on 2 December 2011. The album was produced by nine dubstep artists and differs from the previous style of the band.

Formation

The first single Get Up!, A collaboration with dubstep producer Skrillex, already appeared on 14 April 2011 and was sold exclusively as a download. By September 2011, over 150,000 downloads were sold. The song was first performed after went to Skrillex at Coachella Festival Jonathan and Munky on stage in the Dance Tent and the song there - unannounced - played. Work on the tenth album began in March 2010. The album should be a mix of metal, dance and dubstep elements from the beginning. In the participating dubstep artists are Skrillex, Kill the Noise, Noisia, Feed Me, 12th Planet, Flinch, Datsik, Downlink and Excision. Corn was August 27, 2011 the title The Path of Totality and December 2, 2011 as the release date for the new album known. Before the album went under the working title of X as an allusion that the album is the tenth in grain career. Additionally there is a bonus DVD with the title " The Encounter ". The DVD shows a concert of the band in the middle of a crop circle in the home grain in Bakersfield, California. Also said Ronny Bittner of Rock Hard, that the level of pre-release single Get Up! on album length was not quite kept. He missed the grain typical Riffpower and brutality. He forgave seven out of ten possible points.

The Path of Totality The tour began on November 3, 2011 in the United States. Overall, it was the end of six sections. Three legs in North America, two in Europe and one in Asia. Special features of the presented setlists were that the songs were arranged chronologically. So first were songs of the first two studio albums, Korn and Life Is Peachy, as well as rarities that did not make it to these albums, like the never before played live tested Proud. This was followed by songs from the new album The Path of Totality, the greatest hits, and finally an encore. Guest musicians were Elijah Blue Allman, with the band aufführte the song Somebody Someone at a concert in Oberhausen. Live at the Hollywood Palladium is a live album in one is available on CD and DVD or CD and Blu -ray Disc and was published on 2 September 2012. It shows the appearance at the mentioned place on the day of the release of The Path of Totality on December 6, 2011. For this show, the band invited some mitgewirkten on the album dubstep and electro artists and performed with them on their songs.
