Thomas Godoj

Thomas Godoj (born 6 March 1978 in Rybnik, Poland; actually Tomasz Jacek Godoj ) is a German pop / rock singer and songwriter of Polish descent from Recklinghausen. He won the fifth season of the talent show Germany sucht den Superstar (DSDS ), aired from January to May 2008 by the television channel RTL.

Career

Life and first steps as a musician

Thomas Godoj was born in 1978 as son of Danuta and Eugen Godoj in Rybnik in Poland. In 1986 his parents moved with him and his sister to Germany. Since October 1988, he lives in the Westphalian town of Recklinghausen. After attending secondary school and the existence of the vocational baccalauréat, he trained as a technical draftsman. He then attended the University of Bochum on a degree in civil engineering, but he broke off for music. Thomas Godoj has one daughter and one son.

He undertook his first musical steps as a singer in bands like Cure of Souls, flux capacitor, Tonk! and WiNK. With the formation Cure of Souls, he won the 2003 Newcomer Festival in Recklinghausen.
