Thüringenhausen

Thüringenhausen is a municipality in Kyffhauserkreis in Thuringia.

Geography

Thüringenhausen is about 220 meters above sea level on a bow of Helbe. The landscape is largely dominated by agricultural land; Trees exist only in the floodplain of the Helbe as well as street trees along the roads. Thüringenhausen is the smallest municipality in Kyffhaeuser circle. Neighboring municipalities are Bellstedt Helbe up in the west, and the city Großenehrich, bordering the Thüringenhausen the north, east and south with the districts of Lower Spier ( northeast), Bliederstedt (east) and Großenehrich (south).

History

Was first mentioned Thüringenhausen 874; the spellings varied in the past between Durinhusen, Doringhusen and Döring Hausen. The Lords of Doringhusen were a locally influential noble family, whose most famous representative of Heinrich Doringhusen in the 15th century was canon in Erfurt. Main attraction is the Church of St. Peter, a small church hall in the southwest of the village, with the characteristic for the region " Thuringian hood". The nave dates from 1877, the tower is much older. The most important club in the town is the volunteer fire department.

Economy and infrastructure

Thüringenhausen located away from busy traffic routes; smaller roads leading north to Hohenebra westward into neighboring Bellstedt, and south to Großenehrich. The nearest train station is located about 3 km northeast of Lower Spier.
