Tim "Ripper" Owens

Tim "Ripper" Owens (* September 13, 1967 in Akron, Ohio) is an American Metal singer. He began his career in England with the Judas -Priest cover band " British Steel " before 1997 he was the singer of Judas Priest. Previously, he sang among others Brainicide and Winters Bane. 2003, the original singer Rob Halford returned to Judas Priest, but Owens quickly found a new job with Iced Earth, whose long-time vocalist Matt Barlow had just left the band. Moreover, alongside Iced Earth, he formed his own band called Beyond Fear. On 11 December 2007 Jon Schaffer announced that Matt Barlow will return as a singer with Iced Earth and Owens thus leaves the band. End of February 2008 he was introduced as the new vocalist of Yngwie Malmsteen. In 2009 he founded an all-star band called Charred Walls of the Damned. In 2011, he was lead singer of the Dio Disciples.
