History

Incorporations

On 1 July 1972, the municipalities Dünsche, Gedelitz, Gross Breese, Liepe, Marl Eben, Nemitz, Pannecke, Tobringen and Vasenthien were incorporated.

Policy

The municipality belongs to the state election district 48 Elbe and the Bundestag constituency 38 Lüchow -Dannenberg - Lüneburg.

Culture and sights

  • Feldsteinkirche to Cernosin one of the oldest churches in the diocese of Lüneburg. It was built in the mid-12th century as a Romanesque fortified church of monks from this village in the Altmark. The built-in field stones come from the Elbtälern. The church tower, which was built in half-timbered style, was erected in 1626. It was demolished in 1750 due to disrepair and was on the west side of the church in 1753 as well as a half-timbered building new. The altar was the church in the year 1717. 1777 the church got a built by Johann Georg Stein organ, which is still intact. Shortly before the First World War was the Church of the Counts of Bernstorff Foundation, a new peal of bells and a new clock tower. The bell was melted down for armaments in 1917 during the First World War.

Sports

In the district Liepe for 60 years, there is a sports club TuS Liepe.

Economy and infrastructure

In Cernosin still exist four Farms, two of which are full- time farming. A sheep grazed by moorland near the Nemitzer Heath. Country inn, bakery, regional stores and numerous guest rooms or apartments prove that Cernosin gradually transforms into a holiday destination. Furthermore, there are two agricultural and automotive workshops, a timber trade with fence construction work. In place Cernosin and the associated villages several equestrian centers are operated. Cernosin is the site of a voluntary fire brigade.

Education

Cernosin has a four-year primary school and a children's circle.
