Geography

Geographical Location

Prezelle is located on the southwestern edge of the Gartower Forst about 10 km south of the Elbe. The community belongs to the Samtgemeinde Gartow, which has its administrative headquarters in the spots Gartow.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the following districts Prezelle:

  • Prezelle with settlement Prezelle and Wirl (several forestry buildings )
  • Lomitz
  • Lance

Settlement Prezelle and Wirl are two exclaves located within the unincorporated area Gartow.

History

Religions

In the community there are Prezelle the Evangelical Lutheran parishes Prezelle and lance and the chapel community Lomitz who have come together to form a consortium. The communities have a common parish in Woltersdorf with the parishes Wolter village and Cernosin.

Incorporations

On 1 July 1972, the municipalities were integrated lance and Lomitz.

Policy

The municipality belongs to the Prezelle parliament constituency 48 Elbe and the Bundestag constituency 38 Lüchow -Dannenberg - Lüneburg.

Parish council

The council is composed of Prezelle since the local elections on September 11, 2011 from seven council women and councilors:

Mayor

The honorary mayor Hartmut Heitmann was re-elected in November 2011.

Culture and sights

Churches

The patronage of the church was Prezelle 1752 Graf von Bernstorff build. The brick building was supplemented by a tower and apse in the 19th century. Inside the church impressed by their brightness. The organ was built in 1984 by the organ builder Alfred leader behind an organ case from 1872 by Rohlfing.

The Church in lance replaced in 1876, built at the beginning of the century building. The neo-Gothic architectural style of the church is also found in the altarpiece and the pulpit again. The organ of Folkert Becker was built in 1877.

The Lomitzer chapel was built in 1879 in neo-gothic design with typical for this style turrets on the west tower. The modern pulpit was built in 1981.

Activities

The IGAS Wendland eV organizes annually the Wendland84er Target range in Prezelle, an inline speed skating event, under which, inter alia, the German Endurance Championship will be played on the double marathon distance ( 84.39 km ).

Others

The television film The Dubrow - crisis (1969, Author: Wolfgang Menge, Director: Eberhard Itzenplitz ) was shot in Prezelle. It also took villagers minor roles. Even indoor shots were shot on the spot, for example, in the House of Culture reclassified to a temporary village inn.
