First, the chapel had been rebuilt from the submerged village Lutze. 1655 spent during the Thirty Years' War, the church was built with a new rectory again. The present rectory was built in 1734 and is the oldest house in the four-column Lüchow- Dannenberg. 1763 already third church built in Riebrau.

For Gülden is mentioned in 1534 a chapel. Since then, the church is staffed around the clock together in Riebrau with the pastorate.

Until the twenties of the last century Zernien consisted of only three farmsteads ( at today's federal highway located ). The central villages of the western part of the former district of Dannenberg were the places Gülden ( two kilometers south ) and to a limited extent Riebrau (two kilometers to the north ). This is read among other things, that today many facilities in the two districts today are Zerniens (Churches in Gülden and Riebrau; shooting club and volunteer fire department in drams ).

With the opening of the railway line Uelzen -Dannenberg in 1924, this changed, as about 500 meters north of the three courtyards, a station was built to serve the surrounding villages. In the following years, then moved to several wood processing companies. For this reason, the town has, in contrast to all other places of the district ( except New Tramms ), almost exclusively on architecture from the years after 1924. Today is in the village Zernien whose precincts up to the area of the district Braasche covers, nearly 50 % of the community population.
