The national ice hockey team of the United States is organized by USA Hockey. There is both a men's and a women's team, the men are ranked No. 6, the ladies at rank 1 of the IIHF World Ranking.

In the U.S., there are over 485,000 active players. Head coach of the national team since 2009, Ron Wilson, who replaced Peter Laviolette.

Junior Teams
The U.S. junior teams are among the best in the world. The U18 team won as the World Cup in 2002, 2004 they took silver. The junior celebrated in 2004 and 2010, their greatest successes, and they won the gold medal at the world championships. In 1997 (Silver ), 1986 and 1992 ( bronze ), they came to the " podium ".
