Úštěk

The city Úštěk ( German Auscha ) is in Okres Litoměřice in the Czech Republic at the scenic transition between the Czech Central Mountains and the Daubaer Switzerland. In the 22 districts to live a total of 2,800 inhabitants. The city was repeatedly backdrop for some movies.

Úštěk was built on an elongated sandstone rock that pushes along the Černý Potok (Haber Bach) from west to east in the mouth region of the Úštěcký Potok ( Munkerbach ).

The main employers are traditionally agriculture, metal processing and furniture production. The share of textile production decreases continuously, with the service sector growth can be reported. Unemployment is relatively high.

History

The town was founded in the mid 11th century and in 1361 a town. The original Lords of Michalovice pledged the city in 1387, the city of Berka of Dubé. The city went through numerous religious and secular hands. Auscha is a center of hop growing and was a center of the Bohemian hops trade. 1885 Hopfensignierhalle was built and there were several large Hopfenschwelereien. On the Auschaer hop markets produced Rothopfen was traded. Longitudinal through the city led the Ärarialstraße of Leitmeritz by Bohemian Leipa.

In the 1960s, the city was created north of the recreation center Chmelař. Through the application of the artificial pond, the village Zelena Ves (Green Village ) was evacuated and flooded. To the northwest lies the massif of Geltschberges ( Saddleback ).

  • The Neuländer Chapel Hill near Ostré ( Neuland) has a height of 330 m and offers a good view over the pool to the Auschaer Geltschberg. In the opposite direction to the summit of Vlhošť ( Willhoscht ) is just visible. The two baroque chapels above a stone staircase, which leads Ostré of the Cross were built in 1703-1707 by the architect Octavio Broggio Leitmeritzer for the Jesuits to Liebeschitz.
