The Utah Olympic Oval is an ice rink in the Oquirrh Park in Salt Lake City ( Kearns ), United States Utah. Was in the 104th IOC Session, in Salt Lake City chosen as the venue began on the design and construction of the hall for the Olympic Winter Games 2002. Thanks to its altitude, the hall is considered, especially in the sprinters than the fastest speed skating rink in the world.

Olympic Winter Games

2002, decisions were fought in speed skating in the hall. Especially for the games, the number of seats was increased to 6500. All tickets found a buyer and thus can be used over 53000 spectators live to be there. Except for the 2 * 500 meters world records have been set on all routes. Including the world record, which to this day still valid German record, by Claudia Pechstein with 6.46,91 over 5000 meters.
