Villa Corona is a municipality in the Mexican state of Jalisco in the Región Centro. The municipality had the Census 2010 16.969 inhabitants; the area of ​​the Municipalities is 319.1 km ².

Greatest place in the municipality and administrative headquarters is ( until 1918 called Tizapanito ) of the same Villa Corona. Other cities with at least 1,000 inhabitants are Estipac, Atotonilco el Bajo and Juan Gil Preciado. The municipality comprises a total of 25 villages.

The municipality of Villa Corona borders the Municipalities Cocula, San Martín Hidalgo, Tala, Acatlán de Jurárez, Zacoalco de Torres and Atemajac de Brizuela.

The municipal area is mostly 900 m to 1500 m altitude in the south of the highest peaks reach an altitude of 2400 m. The approximately 40 % of the municipality are forested or used for agriculture. One tenth of the surface forms the Laguna de Atotonilco.
