Villa Muñoz

Villa Muñoz is a neighborhood ( barrio ) of the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo.

It is located near the city center, bordered by the west, from La Aguada and in the east adjoining La Comercial. To the south lies the Barrio Cordón. The neighborhood was essentially shaped by Emilio Reus, who built a picturesque collection of houses and buildings here. Also referred to as the Jewish Quarter Villa Muñoz has a large number of shops in the low price segment, traditionally operated here by Jews.
