Vladimír Sobotka

Vladimír Sobotka ( born July 2, 1987 in Třebíč, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech ice hockey attacker who is since June 2010, with the St. Louis Blues in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Vladimír Sobotka began his career as a hockey player in his Czech homeland at HC Slavia Prague, for whom he played for four years from 2003 to 2007. During the NHL Entry Draft 2005, he was selected by the Boston Bruins as a total of 106 players. His debut in the National Hockey League was the attacker 24 November 2007 against the New York Islanders. His first NHL goal he scored on 13 February 2008 against the Pittsburgh Penguins. In his first NHL season Sobotka came on 48 missions with seven points scorer, of a goal. He was not only in Boston squad, but also plays regularly for their farm team, the Providence Bruins, from the American Hockey League.

In summer 2010, Sobotka was transferred in exchange for David Warsofsky to the St. Louis Blues.
