Brian Elliott

Brian Elliott ( born April 9, 1985 in Newmarket, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender who stands since July 2011 with the St. Louis Blues in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Brian Elliott began his career as a hockey player in the team of the University of Wisconsin -Madison, where he was active from 2003 to 2007 in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Previously, he had been selected as the player of the second-class boys team Ajax Axemen from the Ontario Junior Hockey League in the NHL Entry Draft in the ninth round in 2003 when a total of 291 players from the Ottawa Senators.

For their farm team in the American Hockey League, the Binghamton Senators, was the goalkeeper in the 2006/07 season his debut in professional hockey, as he stood between the posts eight times. In the following season Elliott was a time in the National Hockey League for the Ottawa on the ice, but spent the rest of the season again at their farm team, while he was able to increase in the 2008 /09 season on 31 missions, where he and his team 16 times helped to a victory.

On 18 February 2011 Elliott was transferred from the Senators to the Colorado Avalanche. Ottawa received goalkeeper Craig Anderson in return. Its at the end of the season 2010/11 expiring contract was not renewed.

As a free agent Elliott signed on 1 July 2011, a contract with the St. Louis Blues, where he worked in the 2011/12 season two franchise records aufstellte (9 shutouts in a season and 241:33 minutes in a row without conceding a goal ) and for NHL All -Star Game was invited. He also won along with Jaroslav Halák the William M. Jennings Trophy ( Goalie duo with the fewest goals against in the regular season). His current contract runs until the end of the 2013 season / 14th
